Last Spring I created a series of soundscape transcriptions that focused on the beautiful symphony of sound that is emitted by our eastern spring peepers (Pseudacris crucifer). I was so mesmerized by their choir I carefully and respectfully tracked through many swamps to sit amongst their collective song. I managed to field record many hours of sound data which I excitingly brought home and played them on a loop for hours while transcribing them onto paper using graphite and ink.
